INGREDIENTS:
16 oz (450g) mushrooms (button mushrooms or cremini work well)
3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
3 cloves garlic, minced (or 1.5 tsp garlic powder)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp dried thyme (optional)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat the air fryer:
Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for about 3-5 minutes.
Prepare the mushrooms:
Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt. You can also gently rinse them, but be sure to dry them well afterward.
If the mushrooms are large, you can halve or quarter them to ensure they cook evenly. For smaller mushrooms, you can leave them whole.
Prepare the garlic butter mixture:
In a small bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove.
Add the olive oil, minced garlic (or garlic powder), dried thyme, salt, and pepper to the melted butter. Stir until well combined.
Coat the mushrooms:
Place the mushrooms in a large bowl and pour the garlic butter mixture over them. Toss the mushrooms well so that they are evenly coated with the butter and seasonings.
Air fry the mushrooms:
Arrange the mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket or tray. Avoid overcrowding to ensure they cook evenly.
Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket or stirring the mushrooms halfway through the cooking time to ensure they cook evenly.
Check for doneness:
The mushrooms should be golden brown and tender when done. If you prefer them a bit more crispy, you can cook them for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Serve:
Once cooked, remove the mushrooms from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving dish. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley (optional) and serve immediately.
